Robert Lechowicz & Daniel Sorridimi are co-founders behind Blackwood Hospitality, alongside partner Paul Pisani, and the driving force behind Blackwood Cronulla and Blackwood Bondi, venues that have become true cornerstones of their local communities.
Since opening their first venue in Cronulla in 2016, Blackwood has grown into more than a café or restaurant. It’s a place locals return to daily, for coffee, conversation, and food that feels both familiar and thoughtfully crafted. Known for its warm energy, strong culture, and consistent quality, Blackwood has built a loyal following by prioritising community connection just as much as what’s on the plate.
Robert brings a world-class culinary foundation to the brand. With experience in Michelin-starred kitchens, including The Greenhouse in London and L’Abeille at the Shangri-La in Paris, his approach blends refined technique with approachability.
Beyond Blackwood, Robert also works as a hospitality consultant and menu developer, driven by a genuine passion for supporting other operators and helping businesses elevate their food offering, systems, and kitchen culture.
Daniel leads the strategic, and brand direction of the business. With over a decade of experience across hospitality, technology, and venue development including founding and investing in hospitality-focused tech platforms he brings a commercially grounded, future-focused perspective. His passion lies in building sustainable businesses that invest in people, systems, and long-term growth.
