Born into a world of brains and booze, Karel “Papi” Reyes was destined for hospitality. With a surgeon father and a mother who played a key role in the original Bacardí Distillery of Santiago de Cuba, Papi combined culture, creativity, and charisma from an early age. After graduating in Arts & Culture, he moved to London in 2000 to refine his cocktail craft at the iconic Cocoon bar before helping shape Australia’s modern bar scene through venues including Zeta, The Ivy, The Barber Shop, Laruche, and Press Club in Sydney.

For more than 10 years, Papi has been creating with MONIN as a leading Cocktail Ambassador and flavour specialist, recognised across the hospitality industry for his innovation, energy, and ability to connect with every audience. Loved by customers and respected by peers alike, Papi is known as a true creative genius. He is able to transform any flavour combination into something unforgettable across cocktails, mocktails, sodas, spritzers, and beyond.
