Dr Lilly Lim‑Camacho is a Principal Research Scientist with CSIRO Agriculture and Food, based in Brisbane, whose work focuses on transforming food systems to support a more sustainable, equitable and resilient future. Her expertise spans value chain analysis, agribusiness and systems approaches, with a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement and science communication to bridge research, policy and practice.
She plays a leading role in Food System Horizons, where she leads strategic engagement and fosters collaboration across government, industry and community to address complex food system challenges. Through this initiative, she has helped catalyse national dialogue and cross-sector partnerships to guide food system transformation.
Most recently, Lim‑Camacho co‑edited and co-authored the landmark Towards a State of the Food System Report for Australia (2025), a first national stocktake that builds an evidence base to guide decision‑making across economic, environmental, health and equity goals. She has also led major place‑based initiatives, including engagement for the South East Queensland Food System Strategy (2026), bringing together regional stakeholders to align shared goals for sustainable food futures.
Her work extends to supporting the development of Australia’s emerging National Food Security Strategy, applying systems thinking to strengthen governance and resilience across the food system
