Lorenzo Tron is the founder of the award winning restaurant Shop225, which has been awarded Australia’s best pizza. Opening its doors in Melbourne in 2016, Shop225 started with a simple yet ambitious vision: create a restaurant where everyone could share a meal together, regardless of allergies, intolerances, or dietary choices.
Born and raised in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lorenzo moved to Australia only to learn English, never imagining that his journey would lead him into the world of pizza, hospitality, and what has become his life’s purpose: culinary inclusion.
After years spent working across restaurants, bars, and Italian product importation, Lorenzo felt the need to build something that truly represented who he was. That idea became Shop225 – a small neighbourhood pizzeria with a big mission. Over the years, Lorenzo and his team introduced vegan pizzas, house-made pasta, gnocchi, gluten-free and dairy-free desserts, all built around the same principle: Food is for everyone. Food unifies.
A testament to his commitment and vision, Shop225 became the first pizzeria in Australia officially accredited by Coeliac Australia.
