Nerida McPherson Conway

Nerida is the unique combination of Australian businesswoman, food media personality, journalist, cook, podcast producer/ presenter and mother of 3 adult ‘babies’. 

A qualified Journalist, her career path led from a role on ‘Neighbours’ many moons ago, to hosting various food-related programmes on TV and radio, including 3AW and 2UE, Macquarie Media.

Nerida is currently the producer and host of popular national lifestyle podcast ‘That Food & Wine Show’ now in its 7th year – which features on Virgin Australia’s inflight entertainment, Spotify, Apple and other podcast platforms. She also writes restaurant reviews for News Limited’s ‘Delicious 100’

In addition, during the first Covid lockdown when her media work came to a temporary halt, Nerida ‘accidentally’ started a little pavlova business and 3 years ago, opened ‘Pav Queen’ in Alphington.

“It’s been fascinating for me, coming from a food media background, to be working in the trenches of hospitality also. It’s great to have both perspectives”! 

Her unique skills include TV presenting, live and televised cooking demonstrations, hosting events and foodie tours, MC’ing various events, festivals, shows & gala dinners, and moderating discussion panels, and facilitating discussions with key stakeholders/ chefs/ restaurateurs at events like ‘Food Service Australia’. 

Nerida also regularly conducts interviews with visiting celebrities or featured personalities at ticketed events such as ‘The Good food and Wine Show’. She has extensive presentation and communication expertise across multi-media channels – which puts the lie to most school reports which said she’d never be able to make a living ‘talking’ so should learn to button her lip!
