Brewed for Business: New Café & Coffee Show to Energise Australia's $21 billion Sector

Sydney, Australia – 7 October: Sydney’s International Convention Centre has been chosen as the host venue for the Café & Coffee Show, an exciting new business event dedicated to Australia’s vibrant café and coffee scene.

Created by National Media – Australia’s leading producer of industry defining events – the Café & Coffee Show will debut from 25–27 May 2026 as part of Food & Hospitality Week. The event will provide a high-energy, highly focused destination for hospitality and retail buyers to explore what’s new, what’s better, and what will make the biggest impact on their bottom line.

The show will attract owners, managers, baristas, and buyers from cafés, bakeries, coffee shops, QSRs, and convenience retailers – from independents and franchise groups to national and regional chains – all looking to source the latest equipment, technology, ingredients, and ideas for casual dining and fast-moving, on-the-go formats.

Spanning three dynamic days, the event will feature a curated exhibition, networking events, expert-led content sessions, live competitions, and hands-on training – everything operators need to boost profits, elevate the customer experience, and streamline future operations.

“Cafés and coffee shops are at the heart of Australia’s hospitality culture, yet there hasn’t been a dedicated trade event in Sydney catering to their unique needs in almost a decade – so we’re changing all that,” says Mike Hill, Portfolio Director at National Media.

“This event brings the entire supply ecosystem together – from specialty coffee and teas, cold beverages, breakfast items, artisan breads, sweet treats and baked goods, to lunch options, grab-and-go products, hospitality tech, equipment and packaging, and everything in between,” he said. “If it fuels a café or coffee operation, you’ll find it at this show.”

Designed in consultation with leading industry figures, the event is a direct response to a clear gap in the market, Hill added.

“The idea came from conversations with suppliers looking for a more targeted platform to reach this complex and fragmented sector. That sentiment was echoed by the café and coffee community, who felt existing events were falling short on delivering the right products or content relevant to their businesses.”

With more than 29,000 cafés, coffee shops, and bakeries operating across Australia – and new venues opening every week – the market continues to grow. Add in the fast-evolving foodservice convenience sector, you’ve got a dynamic $21.2 billion industry that shows no signs of slowing.

Why Now? Industry tailwinds signals perfect timing:

  • Australia’s café and coffee shop sector is growing steadily despite cost-of-living pressures
  • Premiumisation, ethical sourcing, and grab-and-go formats are reshaping casual foodservice
  • Operators are hungry for innovation – from smarter systems to flexible formats and fresh flavours
  • Attendees are seeking practical value – not just general hospitality content, but real inspiration and commercial relevance

At its core, the Café & Coffee Show is about community – bringing together the people, products, and perspectives shaping one of Australia’s iconic industries.

Whether you’re a solo operator or a growing franchise, it’s your chance to connect, learn, and grow alongside the best in the business.

And for suppliers – it’s the ideal platform to meet qualified buyers in a high-energy, highly targeted setting, at exactly the right time.
